Why do you serve on the Alumni Board?  I love this university and it’s mission as well as students.
Carolyn and her husband, Dan moved to Bethany after residing 40 years in the Houston area.  They enjoy being close to their son, Chad and daughter, Summer and their families.

Why do you serve on the Alumni Board?  “I accepted this position because I wanted to give back to the university that made a positive impact on me as well as many of my close friends and family.”

Margaret Gilliland

Margaret Gilliland
At Large position on SNU's Alumni Board of Directors.

 Margaret attended BNC/SNU 1960-64, graduating with a BA in sociology and a minor in psychology. While there, she met and married Rollin Gilliland ('63) and was married for almost 50 years until his death in June 2013. Upon graduation from BNC, she worked for the Okla. Employment Security Commission as a youth advisor in OKC. Later, she & Rollin were asked to join the staff at MANC/MNU in Olathe, KS. There Margaret served in numerous roles; she served in women's residence halls, set up the first teacher placement services, developed and continued to work in the Career Development Center, served as Assoc. Dean for Residential Life, Dean for Student Life and finally, VP for Student Development. Was honored with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree upon retirement in 2009 after 40 years at MNU. In 2010, she and Rollin moved to OKC. Margaret previously served on SNU’s Alumni Board during 2010-2012 but felt the need to resign due to her husband’s declining health at the time. Margaret attends Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.


 

Robert Canino

Robert Canino

Robert is a candidate for an open At Large position on SNU's Alumni Board of Directors. He is a graduate from the Class of 1982 with a BA degree in Speech/ Communications and in 1986 received his Juris Doctorate from the OU School of Law. Robert Canino is currently a notably influential Regional Attorney at the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area. He is married to Loretta (Rutledge) Canino, graduate of the Class of 1984 and they live in Grapevine, TX.  They have two children.  Their daughter, Brianne Canino Morrow graduated from SNU in 2015 and currently serves as the Residential Director for Bracken Hall.  Their son, Braden Canino is a current student, about to begin his Sophomore year at SNU.  While at SNU, Robert was President of the Associated Mens Students(AMS), a Yell Leader, writer for the Reveille Echo and emceed and performed in countless events while at BNC.
